THE GAME OF MAKING THREES
Triology plays like Rummy, but that's where the similarity ends, and a new level of fun and challenge begins. Instead of melding books of three queens, for instance, or runs of, say, the 4, 5, and 6 of diamonds, a player gets points by making SETS and laying them on the table.
A SET consists of three cards on which every feature is either the same on all three cards or is different on all three cards. The features are: symbol (diamond squiggle, or oval), number of symbols (1, 2, or 3), color (green, purple, or red), and shading (solid, striped or open).
Once a player puts down a SET for points, it can be stolen by any player who can break up the SET and make two or three new SETS from it and his or her own cards.
