Dog is a version of a very old game from North America that has become very popular in Switzerland, a card-driven Pachisi. There are variations from the traditional Pachisi (or Parchisi), but the concepts are essentially the same. You have a set of playing pieces that you must move around the board and into your "Home" spot. Instead of using dice you use cards which are made up mostly of movement numbers, but also contain some special actions like the Jack which has you swap positions of two playing pieces.
