Description
Who will build the most beautiful kingdom?

In the year of our Lord 1114, in the lands not yet known as France, Louis VI, better known as Louis the Fat, navigates difficult political waters. Numerous barons and minor lords refuse to kneel before the new kinga nd contest openly his authority. These vassals have become castle brigands and have started warring for new lands and earnestly constructing formidable towers, testimony to both their growing power and bolstering determination.

You are one of these lords, firmly decided to extend your influence over the countryside that surrounds you. The fight promises to be difficult, for other nobles share your dreams of expansion! Baron is a game of influence and alliances, greed and treachery, where nothing gained can be taken for truly won.

Players take on the role of warring lords building kingdoms using hexagonal land tiles. There are nine different types of land tiles ranging in points from -2 to +3. Each player receives 2 to 5 tower pawns (depending on the number of players).

Three tiles are placed face up and are available to be selected from each turn. The first tile is free, the second tile costs an honor point, and the third costs three honor points. This makes for some tense decisions as you attempt to build and defend a strong barony.
