This expansion is a full color reprint of the the map only available in the
2006 Essen Set. Two 11x17" map sections are included along with the English
language rules. This highly rated expansion has had the greatest demand for
a reprint.
This expansion map must be used with the map that comes in every Age of
Steam game. The Eastern Seaboard, from Charleston to Quebec, is covered,
along with the Allegheny Mountains. It is used alongside the standard map.
This expansion uses all the track tiles and track ownership markers to
their maximum benefit. Now you can see why they were all included in Age of
Steam!
The expansion has a new action, Marketing. The Marketing action allows the
player to move a Good through one City of the same color without stopping,
eventually stopping at the second City of the same color. This ability may
be used for both Goods movements during the player's turn.
The Production action has changed. The Production action now allows a
player to draw two Goods cubes and place them directly into two different
Cities, one in each City. Every city begins the game with 3 cubes; the
Goods chart is no longer used.
The Urbanization action is enhanced. When a New City is placed on the map,
immediately draw two Goods cubes from the cup and place them in the New
City.
Track Building is also modified, so that players may place one track in the
first turn, two in the second turn, three in the third, four in the fourth,
five in the fifth, etc. Interurban links are also available. The Engineer
action is eliminated.
It is common to use both all the track tiles and all the track ownership
markers in this expansion. Choose wisely!
This is a special printing to honor both the US Patent & Trademark Office
for awarding the Age of Steam trademark (Reg. No. 3,622,075) to John Bohrer
and all the Age of Steam fans for their support.
