Red Poppies simulates regimental-sized engagements (several thousand men) from WWI on a table top map with cardboard game pieces and two six-sided dice. RP emphasizes the command and control trade-offs that complicated tactical action in WWI. Although the game is not “realistic” per se, the linkages between actions and consequences do yield plausible outcomes.
