Every city-state will need to demonstrate their skills at recruiting powerful heroes and gaining the favor of all the gods of Olympus, even terrifying Hades, to extend its supremacy over his opponents...
This expansion contains not one but
several modules, which can be incorporated one by one into the basic game, according to the desires and experience level of the players (those modules are presented in the order we suggest you add them). Of course, the gods smile on those using all the modules and will make each adventure more legendary.
Module #1: Free Positioning:
Setup uses an auction mechanic for starting positions on the board
Module #2: Hades & His Undead:
At a point in mid-game (based on combat dice rolls) Hades enters the game and replaces one of the Gods. Generally Hades appears between 2 and 4 times per game.
Module #3: Heroes & Creatures:
Heroes are shuffled in with the mythological creatures and remain in play so long as they survive and you pay their maintenance costs. The new creatures are also shuffled into the mythological deck.
Module #4: Divine Favors:
Two new card types come into play: Priestesses and Magic Items. And the new Divine Favors tiles. So long as Hades is not active, place the first Divine Favor tile immediately above Apollo. The player who wins the offerings on this God will benefit from a bonus item (Magic or Priestess) and a power (usable once this round).
Priestess cards are used to either avoid paying the cost of maintaining a hero, or discarded to enable the use of a creature figurine for another turn.
