A trivia game that is actually fun!
Friedemann Friese, the popular designer of such games as Power Grid, Cat in the Sack and Fearsome Floors has used his game designer prowess to tackle the trivia genre. Friedemann designed Fauna as a labor of love for a girlfriend, and the passion comes through in an engaging game.
The game consists of 360 different animal cards. On a turn an animal is drawn from the deck at random and it's name and picture are the only portion of the card shown. Players then place bets (ala Wits & Wagers) on where in the world the animal is from, the animal's weight, size or tail length. Although this game is in German, the Latin names of the animals are included. That with the animal's picture is usually enough.
A wonderful and surprisingly fun trivia game about animals!
